YakProject and Procore: an honest comparison.

Procore is a broad construction platform used by many large builders. YakProject is built for small and mid-size general contractors and subcontractors who want the field record, billing and safety on published prices. Here is how to tell which fits.

Who each one suits

Procore tends to suit

  • Organisations already standardised on Procore, with trained staff and years of data in it.
  • Owners or GCs who require Procore on their jobs.
  • Teams that need a product or partner integration that only Procore offers.

YakProject tends to suit

  • Small and mid-size GCs who want daily reports, time, pay apps and safety in one place.
  • Subcontractors who want to work free on a GC's job and bill every GC from their own account.
  • Contractors who want the price on the page and no link between price and contract value.

How each is priced

Procore

Procore prices by annual construction volume, through a quote from its sales team, according to its pricing page.

YakProject

Published on the pricing page. Solo is free forever for 1 active job and 3 people. Paid plans are Crew $49, Company $149, Business $699 a month, or two months free when paid yearly. Viewers, the owner's representatives and invited subcontractors are free collaborators. Company and Business keep working past their allowance at $4 per extra person and $10 per extra active job a month. Contract value never changes the price.

When Procore is the better fit

  • An owner or GC you work for requires Procore. (YakProject can coordinate with it on Company and Business: projects, people, cost codes, RFIs, submittals, daily logs and production.)
  • You need a module, report or integration that Procore has and YakProject does not; check their product pages.
  • Your company already runs on Procore and the cost of switching outweighs the savings.

Questions contractors ask

Can we use both?

Yes. On Company and Business plans, YakProject coordinates with Procore for the jobs that need it, so your crews keep one app.

Does YakProject price by construction volume?

No. YakProject prices by active jobs and people with a working role. Contract value never changes the price.
